My name used to be “Gray”.
I was living with a great family but, due to some sad unforeseen circumstances, my family had to give me away. My mom called Diana at St. Croix Animal Friends to find a place for me to live. Jana, Diana’s cousin, offered to take care of me.
When Jana picked me up, she started calling me Gracie. Since I am gray and a female, I thought that was pretty clever! Jana was very nice and kept talking softly to me. I was so scared. When she brought me to her house, I hid. Everything was strange and new. Jana gave me wonderful food, a warm place to curl up to sleep, and a clean litter box of my very own! She was always talking to me and offering me toys but, still, I was afraid. It took me three weeks to finally believe I was really safe in my new home.
One day Jana was sitting quietly and looked like she needed some company. I jumped up on her lap and she smiled. Then I knew . . . I had found a forever home!
I was so relaxed; I fell asleep right then and there. Jana tells everyone I’m her pride and joy. She really likes it when I play with her. I wonder if she ever played before I came along. When she holds me, I purr to let her know how happy I am.
Thanks, Dee, for bringing Jana to me.
Love,
Gracie
